Meditation is a very personal experience and you will find that what works well for one person may not work well for you. At first, you will question whether you meditate correctly and if you use the right techniques.
Just to relax your mind there is no right or wrong way to meditate. But there are things you can do to prepare yourself to get the most out of your session. You can get good-quality meditation cushions from various online stores. They provide a good level of comfort while doing yoga.
1. Wear comfortable clothes: you'll want to wear something that is not binding and will not interfere. loose clothing that will allow your body to move and breathe freely preferred. Loose-fitting organic cotton will work perfectly.
2. Find your place: Find a place where you feel peaceful and comfortable. It should be good energy that is safe and free from distractions. Perhaps with a tree in your yard or a room that is soft and pleasing to the eye and the senses.
Regardless of what you choose to put you should be comfortable there. Most of us can feel the place just feels right for them. There is no logical reason for this other than just feels right. Use your intuition and you will know the right place for you to meditate.
As you progress you'll want to look for a different place to meditate. There is a pattern of different energy and a different experience to be found in different places.
3. Select the best position: There are some positions that you can use and there are no hard and fast rules on the right to use. I prefer to sit cross-legged on a thin pillow-soft. Initially, it will be easier to sit Indian style leg without putting one foot on top of the opposite leg.
